Etnografía y Análisis Musical de la Danza Jija Huanca del Distrito de Quisqui – Huánuco

Abstract

Sobre la base de un estudio etnográfico y etnomusicológico, esta tesis tuvo como objetivo describir de manera integral el estado actual, la trascendencia y la música de la danza “Jija Huanca” del distrito de Quisqui – Huánuco. La investigación fue del tipo básica, nivel exploratorio - descriptivo, enfoque cualitativo y con diseño etnográfico. Se llevó a cabo de acuerdo con la entrevista de cinco reconocidas personas del lugar entendidas sobre la danza (autoridades, músicos, danzantes y ciudadanos); empleándose como instrumento de recojo de datos, una guía de entrevista. La fase correspondiente a la observación participante en el mismo sitio donde se desarrolla el hecho folclórico, se concretó mediante el uso de una guía de observación que sirvió para detallar el desarrollo de la festividad en el centro poblado de Huancapallac, capital del distrito de Quisqui. Los resultados alcanzados permitieron revelar que el origen de la danza “Jija Huanca” está relacionado a las celebraciones festivas que se hacen en honor a la Huanca con el fin de rendirle culto. En cuanto a la música que acompaña la danza, se presenta variada, con un carácter solemne y alegre, cuyas melodías basadas en la escala pentatónica tienen una métrica regular, lo cual está expresado en los bailes que realizan los danzantes. Señalamos que esta danza tiene un carácter colectivo, ritual, religioso y festivo, plasmado dentro de su escenificación.

Based on an ethnographic and ethnomusicological study, this thesis aimed to comprehensively describe the current state, significance and music of the “Jija Huanca” dance of the Quisqui – Huánuco district. The research was of the basic type, exploratory - descriptive level, qualitative approach and with an ethnographic design. It was carried out according to the interview of five well-known local people who understand dance (authorities, musicians, dancers and citizens); using an interview guide as a data collection instrument. The phase corresponding to participant observation in the same place where the folkloric event takes place, was carried out through the use of an observation guide that served to detail the development of the festival in the town center of Huancapallac, capital of the Quisqui district. The results achieved revealed that the origin of the “Jija Huanca” dance is related to the festive celebrations that are held in honor of the Huanca in order to worship her. As for the music that accompanies the dance, it is varied, with a solemn and joyful character, whose melodies based on the pentatonic scale have a regular meter, which is expressed in the dances performed by the dancers. We point out that this dance has a collective, ritual, religious and festive character, reflected within its staging.
